MATLAB – Image Saturation Function

Often times, it is important or convenient to be able to saturate or desaturate an image. This function used standard MATLAB functionality to saturate or desaturate the image’s total appearance.

Currently, the function uses the REC.601 color matrix to make scaled color transformations, but other standards will be implemented soon as well.

This is an example of the output, with a fully desaturated image, an image that has not been modified (passed modifier digit ‘0’) and then a drastically over-saturated image.

Three images testing varying levels of saturation.
